Matilda
Matilda struck a pose so typical of a kangaroo stance. She was thinking ‘I really want to stop and look because I’m interested but I’ll just be ready to take off if need be’. We are lucky to see them almost every day somewhere around our little town. The plight of kangaroos in our country break my heart. It seems people either love them or don’t. Clearly I love them. Sadly again, if we don’t drastically change our protection of them we could be looking at a time when one of our most iconic Australian images is no longer with us.
Kangaroos use their tail as a fifth leg.
Most roos are left handed.
Amazingly, some can hop about 8m.
