Gary
Gary is a Gippsland Water Dragon and a resident of the Maru Wildlife Park down on the Bass coast. We went there to meet koalas and take photos of the wildlife of which I did. But then I saw Gary and loved his gorgeous range of colours. His scales and spikey spines were spectacular. I’ve never painted a lizard before and wanted the challenge and the opportunity to use green, lots of green.
Gary can hold his breath for 90 minutes underwater.
His breed can grow up to 90cm long from head to tail.
To avoid predators they can either run REALLY fast or dive very deep into the water.
